GM Educational Program for Automotive Service

Dealers aid in the development of technicians along with General Motors with training that focuses on their specialty; training includes three sections in order to allow all the dealers to train mechanics at every level during the formation process, since the high school and beyond.

GM ASEP instructs students for servicing and maintaining GM vehicles. The program is a joint effort from General Motors, GM dealers, as well as educational institutions throughout the US and Canada where there is a focus is on GM products. GM Automotive Service Educational Program lets students change their schedules so that they can also attend college along with get hands on experience at a GM dealership. This is a two year program. Graduates will be rewarded with an Associate’s Degree in Automotive Technology and copuld become GM Mechanics.

Students learn math, reading, and electronics. Analytical and technical skills are included in the educational offerings. The job training proves to be extremely beneficial. There have been more than 15 000 service technicians that have graduated from this program since it first began more than thirty years ago.
